Thai players reacting angrily to the controverstial decision made, shoving the referee in the process too. How sporting.

FINAL SCORE!!!

The thai players confronting the referee after the match!

We don't really get such chances for our national team has declined over the years, after the fandi era. ;D

Singapore drew first blood after courtesy of a alam shah goal after a scramble for the ball in the thai penalty area, with alam shah slotting in the ball into the net!

I was screaming my lungs out ah!!! haha! ;D

The scoreline stood at 1-0 after the 2nd half started as well, with thailand drawing level in the closing stages via a goal from thai player pipat thonkanya.

Soon after, the unexpected happened!
Alam shah fell down rather awkwardly while backfooting, which caused the referee to award a dubious penalty which enraged the thai players & caused them to leave the field as sign of protest to the decision made!

KNN, where's the sportsmanship from the thais?

Whether that the referee's decision is final no matter RIGHT or WRONG the decision was, the thai players have NO right at all to leave the field like that, utter disrepect for the game.

The thais should be meted out the appropriate & deserved punishment for this unsportsman like behaviour of theirs!

This remained for 10 minutes or so, with the referee standing by his decision, & the thais also refusing to return to the field .

They only did so after some persuasion by the thai officials & the go ahead by the thai coach, the players promptly returned to the field & mustafic stepped up & cooly converted the penalty, blasting it right onto the top right corner!

The lions had quite a few other opportunities after the penalty to make it 3-1, with Khairul amri aimlessly heading the ball out..

With tension already tense with the SHIN Corp incident, one wonders what kind of reception the lions would be receiving during the next leg.

A good move would be to play the 2nd leg at a neutal ground instead of thailand i suppose.
